This is a small idea, done carefully: beautiful polished rocks, gathered into little bags you can keep, gift, sort, line up on a windowsill, or pour into a bowl just because they look good there.

Every stone is tumbled and polished until it is smooth to hold and bright in the light. Every bag is a mix, so opening one is part of the fun — no two bags, and no two stones, are exactly alike.

About Pretty Bags of Rocks

Pretty Bags of Rocks is a small shop based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, selling polished rocks in two ways: little bags of mixed tumbled stones, and individual larger rocks sold one by one.

It started with a small pleasure — a handful of smooth, shiny stones is a genuinely lovely thing to own. They look good in a bowl, feel good in a pocket, and make an easy, unusual gift for the person who is hard to buy for.

Each batch is polished in small numbers, checked by hand, and packed by hand. Because the stones are natural and tumbled in mixed batches, colours and patterns will vary — the photos show the kind of mix to expect, and single rocks are photographed individually so the one you see is the one you get.

About the owner

Pretty Bags of Rocks started long before it had a name. As a kid, I collected rocks for my grandpa to polish — and now my daughter and I gather them for me to polish. Some things come full circle in the nicest way. I have always loved the way rocks look, and I wanted to share the beauty of a freshly polished stone: smooth, glossy, its colours finally showing. This little shop is my way of passing that small moment along.

These days I am a wife and a mom of two, a full-time student, and a plant and animal lover. I am studying to become a funeral director and embalmer while also working full-time at a funeral home — meaningful work that keeps my days very full.

Rock tumbling fits into the edges of that busy life. It is a quiet, patient hobby — the tumbler turns while I do everything else — and it brings me real joy. It asks little of me and gives back something beautiful, and every bag that leaves Saskatoon carries a bit of that story with it.
